EN12697-1 clause B.1.2 Wire Mesh Filter method.
Used for the determination of bitumen in hot mixed paving mixtures. The bitumen content is calculated by difference from the weight of extracted aggregates.
The filler or ash passing through the 74micron wire basket has to be seperated from the bitumen and solvent solution using a centrifuge extractor.
Apparatus illustrated with a hotplate which must be ordered seperately.
