Although oven drying is the preferred and most accurate method to determine moisture content, it is time consuming and not always convenient to do on site.
The MicroLance is the preferred option for convenient moisture measurement, as it does not require the use of any dangerous chemicals.
Whilst it is ultimately not as accurate as oven drying, repeatability of results on similar materials is very good. It is suitable for use on sand, aggregates, "dry" concrete mixes and any materials with moisture content up to a maximum of 35%
