Andreasen

The Andreasen Pipette is used to extract quantities of the soil suspension ready for analysis during the particle size distribution test. This is a specialist piece of glass ware complete with a two way and a single stopcock to allow an exact volume of liquid to be taken.

This is used to raise or lower the Andreasen Pipette to its required level, very precisely, so as not to disturb the suspension being tested.
The top handle can be rotated to achieve precise vertical adjustment. There is a millimetre scale for indicating the pipette position.
