Sample Dividers

This divider meets the requirements of the International Seed Testing Association.

The seed sample is placed into the hopper and flows down onto a rotating shallow dished spinner which distributes the seed centrifugally over a two way dividing head. The divisions are chanelled through two side outlets into suitable collecting vessels placed underneath.

The spinner is driven at 450RPM and an extension shaft with a small impellor goes into the hopper throat to disturb the seed and prevent blockages.

An extremely useful laboratory sample divider for quickly obtaining a small representative sample. The divider consists of a stationary hopper of 2.6 litres capacity with a vibratory feed chute feeding through a funnel onto a turntable driven at 52RPM carrying six sample collecting bins. The rate of flow along the vibratory chute can be varied from a trickle upwards. Hopper and funnel made from powder coated steel, collecting bins and chute from stainless steel. This apparatus was originally designed to meet the special requirements of sampling detergent powder, but it can be used for any type of powder of any bulk density.

The divider consists of a stationary hopper of 2.5 litres capacity mounted on support columns above a turntable driven at 52RPM carrying six sample collecting bins covered to prevent dust. The powder cascades from the hopper through a lever operated valve on to a distributor cone and into the collecting bins. The rate of discharge from the hopper can be varied from a trickle to the full 25mm bore. Hopper and distributor cane made from aluminium, collecting bins and valve from stainless steel.

Designed specifically to meet the requirements of BS1017-1 and BS1017-2 these dividers are made to accurately divide samples of coal, coke and other powdered materials of less than 20mm particle size. The sample collecting bins are two each of 1/12, 1/6, and 1/4 of the gross sample are located on a turntable within a dust tight housing. The base of the hopper is sealed by a distributor cone which is opened with a foot pedal to release the sample into the collector bins.
For easy access to the sample bins the feed hopper mechanism can be swung out of the way.
